Rotary vocational training team applications due by Dec. 3 for Australia experience

Those adults with a background in agriculture and fruit farming who are interested in applying to be considered as team members for the Rotary District 7090 Vocational Training Team and multi-week experience in Australia are reminded that applications must be submitted by Dec. 3. Interested applicants should be knowledgeable about and have had experience with fruit production and sales. Potential areas of interest are production, sustainability environment, logistics, marketing, and government. Team members may be non-Rotarians or Rotarians.

A VTT is a group of professionals who travel to another country to teach local professionals about a particular field or to learn more about their profession. This VTT project will send a team of adults from Rotary District 7090, an area from Brantford, Ontario, to Olean, and which includes 69 Rotary Clubs, to the Goulburn Valley and Shepparton Areas of Rotary District 9790 in Australia. The VTT departure date will be in late February / early March 2017, and the return date will be in mid-March 2017.

The cost, subject to the forecasted budget, of the VTT is completely covered by the Rotary District Grant and the host Rotary Club/District. This in-cludes the expenses of transportation, accommodations, and meals, subject to the mandatory exclusions outlined in the application.

Rotary District 7090 VTT Chair Dan Smith states, “Our District is blessed with hundreds of people who are very qualified in the areas of agriculture and fruit farming. We are encouraging such professionals, non-Rotarians and Rotarians, to apply for this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

The Team Member application, which is due by Dec. 3, may be found by visiting http://www.rotary7090.org/SitePage/vocational-training-teams.

For additional information contact Rotary District 7090 VTT Chair Dan Smith at 269-9900 or dsmith4416@gmail.com. Interviews of potential VTT candidates will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10.
