WMH Auxiliary annual membership drive kicks off
WESTFIELD — As the New Year begins, the Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is embarking on its 2017 Membership Drive, hoping for great success.
The Auxiliary’s mission is to promote the interests of the hospital through advocacy, volunteer activities, fundraising and community outreach. The 2016 projects included: renovation of second floor conference/training room, remodeling the cafeteria, posters and ceiling tiles purchased for radiology CT unit, location of qualified person to restore antique pharmacy safe, poinsettias purchased and lobby and community room decorated for holidays, along with a $500 hole sponsored for Foundation’s Golf Tournament.
Financing of these projects was made possible by the community support of the following fundraisers: annual membership drive, election night ham dinner, spring chicken and biscuit dinner, pie booth at the Arts & Crafts Fair, Parklane jewelry sales, lottery tree, quilt raffle, and sales of porcelain ornaments and magnets.
Auxiliary Community Outreach also promotes the hospital by sponsoring blood pressure screenings and various community wellness informational meetings and activities throughout the year.
Because of community members, the Auxiliary is able to support the hospital in so many ways. The Auxiliary Board members invite individuals to join in its efforts by returning the membership card with tax deductible $5 dues and/or donation payable to the Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. It is requested that members indicate their interests on the card.
Those who are not currently a member but would like to join are asked to call Membership Chairman Linda Young at 326-2872 or 753-0517. The Auxiliary Board looks forward to hearing from community members as they continue to support the hospital in providing the best possible experience for Westfield Memorial Hospital patients.
