Sinclairville Library schedules poetry reading today
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library, located at 15 Main St. in Sinclairville, has announced several events for the rest of April.
Today at 6 p.m., members of the Sinclairville Free Library’s Write Circle will read selections from their published poetry and works in process. A reception for Jane Denison and her “Spring is in the Air” photography exhibit will be held during the poetry reading and refreshments will be served.
The library will be closed on Friday, April 14 and Monday, April 17 for the Easter holiday.
The library’s annual volunteer and community appreciation dinner will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at 6 p.m., with a soup buffet and brownie sundaes provided by the library Board of Trustees.
On Thursday, April 20, at 6 p.m. local author Donald Dowling will present his new release, “The Gold of Vanishing Creek : A Western Novel.” Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
Also on Thursday, April 20 at 6 p.m., Susan Allenbrand will lead a card-making class with a Happy Birthday theme. Register in advance by calling the library at 962-5885. A nominal fee of $2 per card will be charged for materials.
Memoir Writing will meet on Friday, April 21 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Books Unlimited will meet on Monday, April 24 at 6 p.m. to discuss “Emma,” by Jane Austen.
The Board of Trustees will meet on April 26 at 6 p.m.
The Christian Book Club will resume meetings after a winter hiatus on Thursday, April 27 at 6 p.m. The featured book will be “Secrets,” by Kristen Heitzmann.
On Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m., there will be an opening reception for the African Safari photography exhibit to be displayed by Dr. Jeanne Wienbaga.
On Friday, April 28 there will be no Write Circle meeting, as author Cecil Murphey will be at the library at 9 a.m. to discuss the process of ghostwriting.
On Friday, April 28 at 6 p.m., there will be a painting fundraiser at the Sinclairville Fire Hall, 30 Main St., to benefit the library. Tickets cost $35 each and must be purchased in advance. Participants will create a 12″ x 12″ canvas painting with a bird theme under the direction of local artist Penny Erb.
