The Conversation Project: End of life wishes discussion
Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. Alzheimer’s Services is partnering with Erie County Medical Center and bringing a “Lunch and Learn” program to area residents interested in learning more about having THAT conversation with their family members about end of life wishes.
“The Conversation Project” will be the focus with the project manager and advisers from ECMC presenting the event, to be held at Connections North, 10825 Bennett Road, Route 60, Dunkirk. It will take place on Tuesday, April 18 from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
A light lunch will be served. Reservations must be made by calling 366-3335 ext. 1236.
The “Conversation Project” is a national social media campaign focused on educating the community on the importance of having meaningful conversations with loved ones about care an individual wishes to receive. The most important aspect of the Conversation Project is making sure each person’s wishes are known and respected when the individual can no longer speak for himself/herself. The “Conversation Project” offers the opportunity and tools to have a person’s voice and values expressed to his/her loved ones.
Having these conversations helps to ease stress and tension among family members. The “Conversation Project” was founded by Pulitzer Prize winner Ellen Goodman.
