LAKEWOOD — A Dunkirk woman has been charged with attempting to steal a purse and a variety of cosmetics with the help of her daughter from a department store.

Lakewood-Busti Police report Krystle A. Hafner, 32, was charged with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child in an incident that occurred around 8 p.m. July 25 in the Walmart location on Fairmount Avenue. Police said Hafner fled the scene leaving her daughter stranded. She later made contact with her and was identified.

Hafner is to answer the charges in town of Busti court later.
