Lake Shore Center for the Arts, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield hosts this show by Jim Reno at the Brenda Eno Art Gallery. There is a grand opening reception, open to the public at the gallery today from 5 to 7 p.m.
Jim Reno is a local artist with his pottery studio and Clay Gallery at 6007 Centralia Hartfield Road in Dewittville. Reno is first a potter working with porcelain clay that he hand paints, working at this artistic endeavor since 1974. Jim and his wife Pat work together as a team, Jim creates and Pat handles the business end of things. As the business manager, Pat is responsible for “keeping Jim in line,” his words!
This show boasts 90 original works of art, all by Jim. His work is unique and very colorful. He paints on canvas wood and according to Pat, “anything that doesn’t move.”
In addition to his fantastic porcelain pottery, Jim began painting to relax in his down time.
The majority of his works in this show have never before been out of his painting studio. They have lined the walls of the gallery with thought-provoking images and much color.
This show was curated and hung by Nancy Nixon Ensign from the North Shore Arts Alliance and will be on display at the gallery until March 24.
Proceeds from the sale of art work will be split among the North Shore Arts Alliance, Lake Shore Center for the Arts and the artist.
