Fredonia Grange Memorializes Members

Following a delicious varietal potluck supper with several guests attending, Fredonia Grange Chaplain Linda Blodgett and acting Ceres Lisa Sedlemeyer read resolutions of respect for the following members who have passed on to their eternal reward in the great Grange above: Vera Bell, Iva Bull, William Lesch, Mr./Mrs. Donald and Helen Pierson, and Robert Wray. During the readings, sisters Lois and Linda Kesby of Ellery placed purple carnations into a vase to commemorate those deceased members’ contributions to the Grange as well as their community.

Concluding the ceremony to the standing applause of members and guests alike, soloist Mary Till, accompanied by Mary Matteson on the piano, sang the hit song “This Is Me,” from the recently released biographical movie, “The Greatest Showman,” about 19th century American circus promoter P.T. Barnum. The song commemorated the individual spirit and unique approach to life followed by each of the departed members. Finally acting President Tom Hebeisen presented both Marys a Tim Hortons gift card as a token of the Grange’s appreciation for their performance.

The next meeting of Fredonia Grange will take place on Wednesday, June 27 with potluck at 7 p.m. followed by the meeting at 8 p.m. with the election of officers as an item of new business.
