‘Beginning Sewing’ for adults in Silver Creek

SILVER CREEK — The Community Education division of Silver Creek Central School District has a new, creative opportunity for adult learners this fall.

Have you always wanted to make your child’s Halloween costume, but didn’t know where to begin? Ever see a pattern for an outfit or handbag, but couldn’t figure out the pattern instructions? If you would like assistance completing a patterned sewing project, then this class is for you.

Beginning Sewing, which will be taught by Jessica Huff, will run for 20 classes from Tuesday, Sept. 17 through Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at 7 p.m. in Room 145 at the high school on Dickinson Street. At the first class, attendees will determine which two days of the week and time frame best meet the needs of the majority or all the participants. Classes will not exceed two hours in length. Registration fee is $40.

For the first class, bring your pattern to determine what supplies you will need to complete the project. Patterns are available at Wal-Mart, Jo-Ann Fabrics, AC Moore, or Holly Hobby. Participants need to supply their own consumables. Sewing equipment will be available through the school. If you bring your own, please clearly mark it with your name. Storage for projects will be made available if desired.

To register, visit http://www.silvercreekschools.org/ and navigate to the “Community Education” page via the Community option on the homepage to download a registration form. To register by phone, call 951-8111 and leave a message with your name, number, and the name of your course(s). You will not receive a confirmation call. You are not permanently registered until we receive your course fee. Money must be received before the class begins. Checks or money orders can be made out to: Silver Creek CS Community Ed.
