The December walk in the woods will start at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Pete Seger picnic area. Besides seeing the park in December, youngsters will have the opportunity to select seasonal material to craft decorations.

Dr. Miller will be on hand with suggestions and materials to help construct the swags.

December is a special time in the woods. It offers an opportunity to visit the trees and shrubs in their winter finery. It is exciting to see what clings to foliage during these long months to ensure that the feathered friends have things to eat and places to be sheltered from the cold winds and snow.

As always, people can walk the labyrinth and the many trails, enjoying nature’s gifts as we near mid-winter.

Labyrinthine Ways Peace Park is located at 3829 Franklin Ave. in the East town of Dunkirk, diagonally across from Greenhurst Avenue.
