Monetary and baby item collection drive being held for Community Baby Shower

Submitted Photo 2019 Collection efforts generated over $9,000 in essential baby items that were donated to 7 agencies in our community that serve the infant population.

Through July 15, the United Ways of Southern and Northern Chautauqua County, in conjunction with the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, are hosting a monetary and baby item collection drive for the Community Baby Shower.

Items collected will be dispersed among local agencies who serve the infant population.

To participate, make a donation or coordinate a baby product/equipment drive within a business, organization or social group. Donations can be mailed or dropped off at either United Way offices at 208 Pine St., Jamestown, or 626 Central Ave., Dunkirk. For checks, please name “Baby Shower” in the memo.

Drop sites include the Bemus Point United Methodist Church, 4954 Bemus-Ellery Road, Bemus Point; Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, 212 Lakeshore Drive W., Dunkirk; United Way of Northern Chautauqua County, 626 Central Ave., Dunkirk; The Relief Zone, 5 Frew Run Road, Frewsburg; New Creation Assembly of God, 116 S. Main St., Jamestown; United Way of Southern Chautauqua County, 208 Pine St., Jamestown; Brocton-Portland Food Pantry, 7063 W. Main Road, Portland; Hamlet Farms, 2691 Route 20, Sheridan; Sherman Fire Department, 122 Park St., Sherman; and the Park United Methodist Church, 49 Sinclair Drive, Sinclairville.
