Willowbrook Park Cemetery meeting set

The annual meeting for Willowbrook Park Cemetery will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. The cemetery is located on Central Avenue in Dunkirk. Any plot owner or columbarium niche owner may attend.

Fredonia Central School District meets tonight

FREDONIA — The Fredonia Central School District will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday. It is expected that the board will make a motion to enter executive session to discuss matters relating to the employment histories of a particular person or persons and matters related to the hiring of a new superintendent of schools.

Church selling grape pies

SILVER CREEK — Just because there is no Silver Creek Grape Festival this year doesn’t mean you can’t have grape pie! The women of the First United Presbyterian Church are selling their famous grape pies for only $15. Pies are available for pickup by arrangement any time in September. Soil and Water Conservation board meets Wednesday

The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District board will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown. The public is invited to attend.

Reed’s staff at City Hall Wednesday

DUNKIRK — A member of U.S. Rep. Tom Reed’s staff will be available at Dunkirk City Hall from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16. Staff will be available to answer questions, gather feedback, and provide assistance with immigration, Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and other issues related to federal agencies. Those unable to attend are encouraged to contact any of Reed’s offices, including the Jamestown office at 708-6369.

Westfield Quilters’ Guild meets Thursday

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters’ Guild will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Westfield YWCA. Those attending will vote on proposed bylaw changes. Members are also asked to bring show and tell items to celebrate National Sewing Month, which is held in September. Members and visitors welcome. Social distancing and masks required.

Chautauqua County Board of Health meets Thursday

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Board of Health will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, by remote access. To view the meeting visit www.facebook.com/myhealthycounty. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the public may participate in privilege of the floor by emailing a statement prior to the Board of Health meeting to raters@co.chautauqua.ny.us. Emailed statements shall be read during the Privilege of the Floor.

Blood drive on Sept. 21

WESTFIELD — The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield. To donate, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age or 16 with parental consent, where allowed by state law, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
