Empty Bowls set for Saturday

The 28th annual Empty Bowls event is taking place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the corner of the east parking lot on Main Street in Fredonia.

This project, which raises money to benefit the Food Bank of Western New York, has been a long running staple of the area and over the years has amassed upwards of $250,000 in donations.

Normally there would be soup to go with the bowls, but with the pandemic that will not be an option this year. There is still a $20 donation with all proceeds continuing to go as usual to charity. The event will be held rain or shine.

Bowls have been made by 15 potters so there will be a lot of forms to choose from. People also will be able to use cash, check or credit card.
