Guided morning nature walk at Audubon

Audubon Community Nature Center’s next outdoor nature walk is on Saturday, April 3. The Eastern Phoebe pictured is among the birds one could spot on this hike led by an Audubon educator.

The Audubon Community Nature Center will hold its next monthly nature hike from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3.

Taking a walk with an ACNC educator is an opportunity to discover some of the seasonal changes that are taking place in the plants, animals, and landscape. Be sure to dress according to the weather for this outdoor activity that will be canceled if the weather is too severe.

Face coverings are required for all participants ages 3 and up for outdoor programs during which participants cannot maintain six feet of distance between family groups. Please have a face covering available.

While donations are welcome, the event is free. Because of limited space, reservations are required.

To reserve a space, call the Nature Center during open hours at 569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org and click through “Upcoming Programs.”

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. While practicing safe social distancing measures, you can enjoy the six miles of trails on the 600-acre nature preserve from dawn to dusk daily.

The Nature Center building includes the Blue Heron Gift Shop, live animals, and the winning photographs from the 2020 Nature Photography Contest. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is by donation only.
