Mayville Food Pantry offers help

MAYVILLE — The Mayville Food Pantry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Food Pantry, located at 99 S. Erie St. or the Cheryl Steinbach Outreach Center, has continued serving those residing in the Chautauqua Lake Central School District to supplement their monthly food needs.

Even if a family is receiving additional SNAP benefits, families are still eligible to receive food assistance based on income and family size. For example, the income caps for a family of one is $25,760.00 to receive food assistance at the Food Pantry. The income levels go up from there, with a family of two’s income cap at $34,840.00, and increasing with more family members. Due to COVID, the Pantry is currently using a hybrid method of some pre-packed bags as well as client choice. Families fill out a shopping list of choices outside and a volunteer shops from the list and delivers the food to clients in the parking lot.

The Mayville Food Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and closes for holidays and for inclement weather (when Chautauqua Lake Central School closes). Families can receive food twice a month at the Pantry, as well as for an emergency. The entrance to the Pantry is located off the parking lot behind the Outreach Center.

Please call the Mayville Food Pantry at (716) 753-2243 during the open hours for more information. The Pantry offers many food choices from the food groups and is here to assist our community.
