The library, located at 760 Thornton Road, Ellington, hosts a free program at 11 a.m. Tina Scherman from the Leon Historical Society portrays surveyor Ellicott’s sister. Masks are required.

COVID vaccination clinic

A drive-through vaccination clinic will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Chautauqua Lake Central School bus garage, 100 N. Erie St., Mayville. No appointments are needed, but pre-registration is available. Bring proper ID and wear a mask. Don’t bring pets.

St. Joseph’s bingo

Bingo will take place at St. Joseph’s parish, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia. Doors open at 5 p.m.; bingo begins at 7. Masks should be worn by those not vaccinated and social distancing will be observed.

TOPS Brocton meets on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. for weigh-ins and 3:30 for the meeting at the Fellowship Church, 148 W. Main Street, Brocton. Everyone is welcome.

Knights of Columbus Council 929 spaghetti dinner

This K of C dinner will be held at its building on the corner of Lynx and Third Streets in Dunkirk from 4 to 7p.m. It features all-you-can-eat spaghetti at $8.50 for adults and $4.50 for children under 12. Homemade desserts can be purchased for an additional charge.

Ahira Hall Library author program

Ahira Hall Memorial Library, 37 W. Main St., is hosting local author and owner of Spook-Eats, Amanda R. Woomer, at 6:30p.m. Woomer will read excerpts of her book, “A Haunted Atlas of Western New York: A Spooky Guide to the Strands & Unusual.” A question and answer session and book signing will follow. Dunkirk Elks Lodge bingo will be held at Central Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission sales begin at 6 p.m. Games start at 7 p.m. Social distancing will be followed. Masks must be worn by those who are not fully vaccinated.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton outdoor Rosary

St. Rose of Lima plans roast pork dinner

The St. Rose Society will hold a drive-through only roast pork dinner at St. Rose of Lima, 11 Center St., Forestville from noon until sold out. Tickets are $12 each. The meal includes pork, squash, green beans and dessert.

Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy fall foliage walk

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Weidner’s chicken barbecue

A Weidner’s chicken barbecue will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Hall, Fourth Street, Dunkirk from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $12 for adults, which includes ¢ barbecued chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, bread and butter, dessert and beverage or $8 for children which includes a ™ chicken with all the fixings. Dining options include take-out or eat in. pre-sale tickets are available in the rectory office, after weekend Masses or from committee members.

National Coming Out Day event

This event, sponsored by the Jamestown Pride Committee, takes place at the Robert . Jackson Center lobbies and conference thatre, 305 E. Fourth St., Jamestown. It is a casual, open mic-style format with speakers, opportunities for sharing, and refreshments from the Labyrinth Cafe. There will also be a fund-raiser raffle.

Audubon Community Nature Center October Camp

Audubon, located at 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, presents an outdoor experience for children ages 4 to 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Costs are $40 for ages 4 to 12 or $30 for Nature Center member children. Paid reservations are required by noon on Oct. 8. Bring outerwear, a lunch, a couple of snacks, water bottles and a change or two of clothes and footwear. Call 569-2345 during visiting hours.
