The Patterson Library in Westfield will host several events throughout December.

The Octagon Gallery’s latest art display, “Wave/Length Art Installation” by Kimberly Turner and Ruby Andromeda Miller, will be on view until Dec. 31.

Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m. the library will host “Mourning Vessel” with Kristen Alfonis, 60-90 minutes duration. Call the library at 326-2154 to reserve a spot.

On Dec. 8 at 5 p.m., artist Leigh Chapman will be running an adult ornament making class. The class is expected to last an hour. Call the library for reservations.

David Medansky will be visiting the library via Zoom at 5 p.m. Dec. 9 to discuss his book “Break the Chains of Dieting: 9 Fundamental Must Have Principles of Healthy Weight Loss.”

The PFLAG Support Group will meet Thursday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m. The group meets both in person and via Zoom.

The library will host the following book groups during December:

¯ Best Sellers — Tuesday, Dec 7, at 6:30 p.m., featuring “Anxious People” by Fredrick Backman.

¯ Mystery Group — Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 4 p.m. featuring “Lions of Fifth Avenue” by Fiona Davis.

¯ Wanderlust Reading Group — Thursday, Dec. 23, at 4 p.m. featuring “Cutting for Stone” by Abraham Verghese.

The library will be closed on Dedc. 24-25 for Christmas, as well as Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday.

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors have continued to meet throughout November

NOVEMBER 16

The group met 22 members present. President Ed Newman welcomed Tony Borrello, and all sang happy birthday to Bob Fancher. Newman then opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and all singing “God Bless America.” Chaplain Pauline Flitt read “A Word” and offered prayers for the members and the food. Winners of the 50-50 were Claudia Markham Ahl (twice) and Phyllis Burghardt. Gifts were won by Flitt, Gene Chesbro and, Joan Militello. Wheel of Fortune lucky winners were: Ahl, Lorrie Newman, Betty Moores, Chesbro, Borrello and Eleanor Lemiszko.

NOVEMBER 23

The Silver Creek Seniors met with 36 members and guests present. President Newman welcomed guests Judy Domanski, Mark Langer and Ernie Hilliker Jr. and welcomed back Walt and Nancy Klyczek. Pauline Flitt read “Countless Blessings” Members enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal prepared by Sunset Bay Restaurant. Several members made delicious pies to finish off the meal.

Winners of the gifts were Annette Hoeber, Nancy and Marge Church. The 50-50 winners were Claudia Markham Ahl, Judy Demanski and Carol Depasquale. Lucky winners of the Wheel were: Bob Fancher, Carm Tampio, Sally Shevlin, Don Hoebner, Walt, Enabell Mirando, Ginny Chesbro, Pauline, Ernie Jr., Sue Borowski, Betty Moores, Judy D., and Lorrie Newman. Ed called bingo and winners were: Don, Walt, Ernie Jr.(twice), Judy Hahn, Joan Suski (twice), Ginny (twice), Marge Church, Janice Snyder (twice), Carol, Carm Tampio, and Jim Spano. The club closed with singing the club song.

Lucky card holders for the wheel were: Sue Duecker, Kim Adams, Ron, Betty Moores, Ed, Lorrie Newman, Harry Suski, Jean McDaneld and Max Church. The 50/50 winners were Lorrie, Annette Hoeber and Eleanor Lemiszko.

Pauline called bingo and the winners were: Janice Snyder (twice), Gene (twice), Teri Weinheimer, Ed, Jane Penhollow, Ruth Sheeler, Earl Sheeler and Lorrie.

NOVEMBER 30

The Silver Creek Seniors met with 20 members present. President Newman opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and God Bless America. It was announced that member Ron Conover passed away last week. Pauline Flitt read “I Walked With God Today”. Everyone enjoyed chili and desserts for lunch. Pauline, Janice Snyder and Lorrie Newman entertained with jokes. Gift recipients were Pauline and Jim Spano.

The 50-50 winners were Janice, Joan Suski and Ed. Wheel of fortune winners were: Max Church (2 times), Janice, MaryAnn Seibert, Joan and Harry Suski. Ed called bingo and the winners were: Ginny Chesbro (4 times), Jim, Carm Tampio (2 times), Lorrie (2 times), Sue Borowski, Enabell Mirando, Judy Hahn, Eleanor Lemiszko and Pauline.

Members were reminded to bring items for the Christmas auction next week, and the club will celebrate November and December birthdays with pizza and cake.

The club meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at 1823 Lake Road, Silver Creek. Anyone wishing information about the meetings, please call 934-2170.
