Sebastian is a brown/black kitty with a large white vest. Born about seven months ago, this boy would love to have a new home for the new year. Next week, the Lakeshore Humane Society will resume its open hours on Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. at 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. If an application is processed ahead of time, those interested in adopting can take their new cat home; otherwise, adoptees can choose their cat and have it reserved while an application is checked.

Over 300 dogs and pups made it into new homes this past year thanks to volunteers, donators, financial contributors, adopters and supporters, such as this newspaper. Every adoption opens a space for another dog to come to NCCR, either a stray, cruelty case, puppy mill castoff, turnover or one pulled from an overcrowded shelter where it would have no chance.

The shelter always has dogs like Hank here, just waiting for that special person to come meet them and find their new best friend. NCCR is located at 7540 N.
