Tom Allen, a 37-year-old father of two from Dunkirk, died in a snowmobile accident near Mayville late Sunday. With his two children and wife, Brittany, left behind, the surrounding communities have come together to do what they can do to help.

Organized by Brittany Allen’s close friend, Lauren Goodman, a GoFundMe has been organized to help the family pay for things like funeral costs to help take as much burden as possible off of the family.

“Tom was a doting father who leaves behind two amazing young boys,” Goodman said in the GoFundMe post. “I am asking for donations to cover funeral costs to hopefully take some of the burden off of Brittany so that she and her sons are able to grieve this loss without the added stress of financial worry. Any little bit helps.”

Created just over two days ago, the GoFundMe already has 290 donations for a total of $21,701 out of a goal of $25,000.
