Lakeshore Humane Society Wednesday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet. The Cat’s Meow Boutique will be open for purchases by the public. For details, call 716 672-1991.

Sinclairville Memorial Day observance

Parade lines up at the Sinclairville Post Office at 8:30 a.m., steps off at 9 a.m. Observance takes place at the Soldiers’ Monument in Evergreen Cemetery with keynote speaker Robert Jordan, former village resident, forestry consultant and author.

City of Dunkirk Memorial Day events

At 10 a.m., the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council will hold a memorial service in Memorial Park. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at John T. Murray VFW Post, 115 Deer St. The Memorial Day parade will take place at 11 a.m., proceeding east on Lake Shore Drive to Central Avenue., south to Fifth Street, then east on Fifth Street, disbanding at Washington Park.
