Narcan to be topic of library event
SINCLAIRVILLE — On Saturday at 1 p.m., Ken Yergens from the Mental Health Association of Chautauqua County will be at the Sinclairville Free Library to provide information about this organization and their available services. Narcan training will also be provided at this time, with participants receiving Narcan while supplies last. This program is presented in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month.
The Sinclairville Free Library was granted funding by the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System for the library’s outreach project on community and family health and wellness. As part of this grant, we have purchased a variety of titles for adults and children that support becoming healthier in a variety of ways. For adults, books like Lightly: How to Live a Simple, Serene and Stress-Free Life by Francine Jay, The Complete Guide to Self Care by Kiki Ely and How to Be Well: The 6 Keys to a Happy and Healthy Life by Frank Lipman, MD help support those looking for ways to develop a healthier lifestyle. Other titles like Adult ADD Solution by George Sachs PSYD and Healing Well and Living Free from an Abusive Relationship by Dr. Ramona Probasco help adults overcome troubling challenges.
We have also added books to our collection that can help children cope with problems they may encounter. Topics include taking responsibility for one’s actions, confronting fears, becoming confident, being honest and dealing with uncomfortable emotions. The World Needs More Purple People by Kristen Bell and Benjamin Hart is a joyful read-aloud about embracing the things that connect us as humans.
A list of new books purchased through this funding is available on our website at www.sinclairvillelibrary.org. Just go to the Support Your Library tab and scroll down for a list of materials purchased through several of the grants our library has received. The library is located at 15 Main Street. Additional information is available by calling 716-962-5885 or by email info@sinclairvillelibary.org. The next meeting of the library Board of Trustees will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 6 PM.
