South Dayton to hold Hometown Christmas Saturday, Dec 10

SOUTH DAYTON — The village of South Dayton and local businesses will celebrate the village’s Hometown Christmas from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.

The South Dayton American Legion is holding a craft show with a chicken and biscuit lunch, costing, $10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. pick up a free Hometown Christmas Tour ticket at one of the participating businesses, have it stamped and visit each listed location on the tour ticket for a free prize or treat or craft.

The village library is sponsoring a Brown Bag Book Sale. Those bringing a non-perishable food item for the South Dayton Food Pantry can receive a free book and bookmark. Also at the library, make a free pine cone reindeer ornament. There will also be a hot chocolate fundraiser for the playground, with photos of the proposed new playground equipment available for viewing.

From noon to 2 p.m Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves will be at the Depot with a gift for all the children visiting.

Participating businesses are Off the Top Men’s Hair Shop, South Dayton Super Market, Bob Astry’s Hardware, Miss Heidi’s Piano Studio, and South Dayton American Legion. Tour tickets will be stamped in the library for Cattaraugus County Bank, TJR Inspirations, Zollinger’s Restaurant and the Library. Outside the Library, Austin Milling will provide the makings for a pine cone bird feeder. The Hometown Christmas Tour Ticket must be stamped at the above locations and the completed tour ticket taken to the South Dayton American Legion and entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to be redeemed at one of the participating businesses and for Christmas Themed Baskets. This drawing will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the American Legion.
