CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 at the post. During a recent meeting, Diman Smith, Eighth District detachment commander and Squadron 1280 member, spoke about the annual “Boots on the Ground” Walk-a-Thon to be held on Saturday, April 22. The function is supported by the auxiliary and Son’s of the Legion and all proceeds will go to benefit the Auxiliary Department president’s project, Honor Flights for Veterans. For community service, the post continues to gather information about holding a class to learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator; more information will follow. Unit 1280’s membership is at 92% paid for the year with $25 dues still being accepted at the post or by sending them to Unit 1280, PO Box 497, Cassadaga 14718. The auxiliary is also planning its annual rummage sale in the back hall Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
