Christmas in Whoville at Chautauqua Safety Village

2695 Route 394, Ashville, 4 to 4:30 p.m. early admission for members only; 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. general public. The event runs until 7:30 p.m. but admission closes at 6:45 p.m. Admission $6 per person, all activities included. Children 2 and under are free. Take own picture with Santa, visit Santa’s workshop, decorate a Christmas cookie with Mrs. Claus, scope out the North Pole Observation Station, meet the Grinch himself and dare to visit his liar, visit with Elsa, Olaf and Santa’s elves, walk among the flats in the interactive stationary parade, make a craft, play games, have a snowball fight, enjoy the whole Whoville-decorated Village. Lakeshore Humane Society Wednesday open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Please note that during the month of December, through the generosity of an anonymous donor, if one cat is adopted, the adoption fee for a second cat will be waived, regardless of the age of the cat. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet. The Cat’s Meow Boutique will be open for purchases by the public. For details, call 716 672-1991.

Fredonia Cannabis Advisory Team meeting
