Lunch fundraiser planned May 5

Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Day St., Fredonia, will host a Cinco de Mayo taco lunch celebration with SUNY student organization Sociedad Amigos de los Ninos in Honduras (Friends of Honduran Children) on Sunday, May 5, at noon. Funds raised will support the mission of improving the lives of Honduran children through medical missions and empowering them to break the cycle of poverty. Book sale planned for South Dayton library

SOUTH DAYTON — The South Dayton Village Library Book Sale will be Friday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be children’s books, vintage, adult fiction and nonfiction, puzzles, games, vinyl records and some craft supplies.

Stockton plans townwide cleanup

STOCKTON — A townwide cleanup is planned from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 17 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Deliver trash to the Highway Department Storage Building, 4696 West Railroad Ave. Appliances, trash and junk only. No garbage will be accepted.

The following will not be accepted tires, liquid waste, paint, oils, batteries, computers, appliances with Freon. Those items, as well as electronics, including computers are accepted at the following transfer stations Fredonia, Falconer, Sherman and Frewsburg.

Chicken BBQ set for May 12

FORESTVILLE — The Forestville United Methodist Church’s annual Mother’s Day Chicken BBQ will take place Sunday May 12 from noon until sold out. Drive-through or sit-in dining is available. Retirees breakfast set for May 4

The AL Tech/Dunkirk Specialty Steel Retirees will meet for breakfast Saturday, May 4, at 8:30 a.m. at Demitri’s Restaurant in Dunkirk. All retirees are invited to attend.
