Step Up for Kids event set for Saturday

On Saturday, The Child Advocacy Program (CAP) will host its annual Step Up For Kids 5K Run/Walk/Bike/EBike at Cassadaga Beach. CAP’s mission is to end child abuse in Chautauqua County, and when abuse occurs, CAP coordinates a community response to bring healing, hope and justice to these children and families.

The Step Up for Kids Run is an awareness event to raise funds to support CAP’s counseling and advocacy programs, prevention training and forensic interviews. CAP has two offices, one at 405 W. Third St. in Jamestown and another at 425 Main Street in Dunkirk.

CAP encourages community members to pre-register for the 5KRun/Walk by Friday, but there will be registration available the day of the race. You can register online at capjustice.org.

Individual rate is $30; under 18, $20; and family group rate, five and up, $20 each. Please call 716-338-3844 if you have any questions.

Race day begins at 8:30 registration for bicyclists and Cycling starts at 9.

Registration for runners and walkers is 9 a.m. with a 10 a.m. start.
