Silver Creek Senior Citizens meet

SILVER CREEK – The Silver Creek Seniors met on Sept. 9 with 25 in attendance. Annette Hoeber had her daughter Peggy visiting also. Everyone welcomed new member Ruth Cardace.

President Sally Conover started the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and everyone singing “My Country Tis of Thee.” Chaplain Pauline Flitt read the Blessing “Awaken Each Morning.” Grilled hot dogs, side dishes and snacks were enjoyed by everyone. Tuesday’s menu will be chili and other pot luck surprises.

The business for discussion was about the new board members who will be taking office in October. Everyone was encouraged to consider applying for a position. Also coming up sometime in October will be the annual auction. Members were reminded to bring in items. The maintenance crew were also acknowledged for doing a great job cleaning the gutters.

After sharing a few jokes Sally started the activities. Pauline, Gene Chesbro and Ruth Sheeler were the 50/50 winners. Carol DePasquale and Elaine Wojda won the gifts. The wheel winners were Ruth Sheeler, Randy Nurmi (3 times) , Ruth Cardace and Eleanor Lemiszko. Bingo winners were Janice Snyder (twice), Ginny Chesbro, Ruth Cardace, Joan Suski, Al Wilson, Ruth Sheeler, Deanna Borrello, Pauline, and Peggy.

After Bingo the meeting ended with everyone singing “Young At Heart.”
