Anderson-Lee Library to celebrate 101 years Thursday
The Anderson-Lee Library is located at 43 Main St., Silver Creek.
SILVER CREEK – This week, the Anderson-Lee Library invites the entire community to join in a truly unique milestone celebration: the library’s 101st Birthday.
The library is embracing its unusual 101-year mark with a relaxed, community-focused party designed to honor its long history and look toward the future. The celebration will take place on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m, the library’s regular hours.
The event is a simple thank you to the community. It’s an opportunity to open the doors, share some history, and hear directly from the people who have supported the library since its inception.
The birthday celebration will feature several fun and engaging activities throughout the day:
— 101 Reasons We Love Our Library: Patrons are invited to share a favorite memory, a reason they value the library, or a wish for the next 101 years. This collective message board will serve as a lasting tribute to the library’s enduring impact.
— Historical Presentation: A continuous slideshow featuring photos, documents, and key moments from the past 101 years of the library’s history will be on view.
— Cake & Coffee: Complimentary birthday cake and coffee will be served to all attendees while supplies last.
— Anniversary Raffle: The library will hold a special drawing for a free clothing item of the winner’s choice from the Anderson-Lee Library’s online collection.
The Anderson-Lee Library was chartered in 1924 and has served as a pivotal resource for literacy, education, and community connection for over a century.
