Meat raffle planned Saturday

SHERIDAN — The Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association will be sponsoring a meat raffle on Saturday at the Sheridan VFW, 2556 Route 20. First spin at 7 p.m.The $5 admission includes beer, pop, and door prizes. There will also be 50-50 raffles and a lottery tree. Lots of great meats from Sloan Supermarket to win. Skiers eye Feb. 15 gathering

ARKWRIGHT — All cross-country skiers and outdoor enthusiasts are welcome to attend a winter ski party on the Boutwell Hill State Forest land at the Ruttenbur parking lot in the town of Arkwright on Sunday, Feb. 15. The address for the parking lot is 2099 Ruttenbur Road which intersects with Rood Road.

There are road signs to help you find the parking lot. This event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food will be provided by the Boutwell Hill Ski Club. The club is a non profit organization which maintains and grooms the trails for cross country skiers and snowshoers. Come and meet like minded people and enjoy winter here in Chautauqua County.

Grief support group to meet

There is nothing easy about grief. While taking steps to find comfort and support might feel overwhelming, there is great value in working through our grief and doing so with others that understand.

Join us for this video based support group ministry that offers help and encouragement to those grieving the loss of a loved one, family member or friend.

Meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays from March 3 to May 26 at Harvest Chapel Church, 39 Matteson St., Fredonia.

Ripley board meets Wednesday

RIPLEY — A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Ripley Central School District will be on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office (Room 119) of the Ripley Central School for the purpose of any and all items that come before the board.
