Antique Equipment Association to hold annual Gas Up and Plow Day

The Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association (CCAEA) is proud to invite the community to its annual Gas Up and Plow Day, a celebration of agricultural history, mechanical ingenuity, and local tradition. The event will take place at the Minor Farm, located at 675 Page Road, Frewsburg on Saturday.

The day kicks off at 9 a.m. and continues until the furrows are finished and the stories are told.

The Gas Up and Plow Day is a unique opportunity for enthusiasts and families alike to witness vintage machinery returning to its roots. Unlike a static museum display, this event puts history to work. Visitors can expect to see:

— Plowing Demonstrations: Watch antique tractors and garden tractors hook up to period-correct plows to turn the earth at the Minor Farm.

— Stationary Engines: Experience the rhythmic “hit-and-miss” sounds of vintage gas engines as well as potentially steam engines that once powered American farms.

— Knowledge Sharing: This is an interactive event. Experts and collectors will be on-site to answer questions and share the history of the equipment that built our region.

The CCAEA encourages all local collectors to participate. Whether you have a fully restored showpiece or a “work-clothes” tractor, you are welcome to bring: Antique gas engines; Vintage tractors; Plows and tillage equipment

This is a free community event. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to comfortably watch the action in the fields. A complimentary lunch will be provided for attendees.

“Our goal is to keep the spirit of old-time farming alive,” says the CCAEA. “Whether you’re a lifelong farmer or just curious about how things used to work, there’s something fascinating about seeing these machines back in the dirt.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
