Chicken barbecue planned for Tuesday

Forestville Chapter 247, Order of the Eastern Star will be holding a chicken barbecue with all proceeds going to the Buffalo and Batavia Veterans Hospitals on Tuesday from noon until 4 p.m. at the D& F Plaza in Dunkirk. Cost is $15 and includes a half chicken, macaroni and potato salads, roll and butter. A half chicken alone is also available for $10. Funds will benefit the veteran’s activity funds.

Retirees to meet July 11

The Al Tech / Dunkirk Specialty Steel Retirees will meet Saturday morning, July 11, 8:30 a.m. at the Central Station Restaurant, Central Avenue in Dunkirk. The group usually meets on the first Saturday of the month, but due to the Fourth of July holiday, the meeting will be held the following Saturday this month only. All retirees are invited to attend.
