Lecture focuses on suffrage

SHERIDAN - The Sheridan Historical Society will host its final lecture program of the summer on Friday evening in the Sheridan Historical Center. Sheridan native Traci Langworthy, Professor of History at Jamestown Community College, will present on Chautauqua County in the Women's Suffrage Movement beginning at 6:30 p.m. The program will highlight some Sheridan connections to our county's nationally recognized "Political Equality" movement of the late 1800s to early 1900s. The presentation is free and open to the public. Those interested are also invited to arrive early and view the Society's wide-ranging displays, beginning at 5 p.m. The Historical Center is located at 2702 U.S. Route 20, Sheridan, on the corner of U.S. Route 20 and Center Road.

Borrello plans Wednesday town hall

SILVER CREEK -- State Sen. George Borrello will host a Town Hall meeting in Hanover on Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Town Hall building, at 68 Hanover St. in Silver Creek. The event will give area residents an opportunity to ask questions, share their concerns and hear updates on state policies, legislation and other developments in Albany affecting Western New York.

Auxiliary plans 'dish to share' gathering

CASSADAGA -- The Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 will hold their annual summer “dish-to-share” gathering, in the hall, Tuesday evening starting at 6. A short meeting to follow.

Fire District holding meeting tonight

SILVER CREEK -- The Bay Creek Joint Fire District preliminary budget meeting will be held at 6 p.m today in the Town of Hanover Court room.

Steel coffee group meets Saturday

SHERIDAN -- Roblin Steel Coffee group will meet on Friday at the Crossroads Diner at 9 a.m . Former employees and family are invited to attend.
