SILVER CREEK -- Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St., has announced programming for the month of September. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program.
To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by 43 Main St., or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!
The library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7 for Labor Day.
-- Back to School: Personalize and Decorate a Notebook, Thursday at 6 p.m. All ages are invited to create a beautiful notebook for the start of the new school year. You don't have to be a kid in school to attend. Caregivers need notebooks too! Lots of fun materials, like washi tape, markers, stickers, stamps, punches and more will be available. All materials, including notebooks, will be provided, but if you have a special notebook you would like to use, please bring it along!
-- Pokémon Club, Thursdays September 10 and 24 at 4 p.m. For ages 8 and older. Battles, snacks and an optional craft will be provided. We have lots of cards, but feel free to bring your own. Please pre-register!
-- Lego Club for ages 5-12, Saturday, September 12 at 10:30am. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.
-- Grape Festival Used Book Sale will be held at the library Wednesday, September 16 from 5:30-7pm, Thursday, September 17 from 10am-8pm, Friday, September 18 from noon-5pm, and the $3 bag sale on Saturday, September 19 from 10am-2pm.
-- All Ages Bingo Tuesday, September 22 at 6pm. This grape themed bingo night will include several rounds of bingo, prizes and snacks! All ages are welcome and registration is required. Join us!
-- Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday morning September 24 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.
-- School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday morning September 24 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.
-- Pioneer Day Social: Crafts, Cakes & Cambric Tea, Saturday, September 26 at 11am. All ages are invited to make a traditional corn cob doll, enjoy heart-shaped cakes, and sip cambric tea and lemonade. We will also read stories from that era and enjoy each other's company. Please register for this event.
-- Mahjong Club, Tuesdays and Fridays at 1pm, except for Friday, September 18. Stop in for a game or stop in to learn how to play with those who love to share their love of the game! No registration required.
-- The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2-4pm, except for Friday September 18. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!
Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m, and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
