SILVER CREEK -- Families with young children will have two fun opportunities to create, move, and play at Just My Imagination Workshop - Parties & More, located at 341 Central Ave. in Silver Creek.
On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., the workshop will host a tie-dye workshop with Bobbie Kilburn of Holidye. Children can take part in the creative process and make a colorful gift for someone special -- or something fun for themselves.
The workshop fee is $10, which includes open play and dyeing one item of clothing. Each additional item is $5. Participants should bring their own white shirt or another piece of clothing, with natural fibers working best. Instruction and dyeing supplies will be provided. Cash only. Younger children will need an adult to help with tying, but they will be actively involved in the dyeing process. Space is limited, and advance registration is encouraged.
The workshop will also welcome families to Saturday Morning Music & Movement with Ms. Helen on Nov. 7, 14, and 21, beginning at 9:45 a.m. Designed for lap-sitting infants through preschoolers and the adults who love them, these active, play-based classes combine approximately 30 minutes of interactive music learning with open play time following in the workshop's imagination-inspired play space.
Helen Smit studied music education at SUNY Fredonia and currently teaches music to students in prekindergarten through fourth grade. She also serves as a youth leader at her church and has previously taught music classes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers. She is passionate about the importance of early childhood music education.
The cost for Music & Movement is $15 per class, or three classes for $35. A sibling rate is available. Families are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and their favorite socks, as the classes are designed to keep little ones moving!
Just My Imagination Workshop offers children a welcoming space to explore, create, imagine, and learn through hands-on play.
