Justin Smith and Emma Laperruque

Mark and Nancy Smith of Mayville joyfully announce the engagement of their son, Justin Stephen Smith, to Emma Rebecca Laperruque, the daughter of Scott and Amy Laperruque of Short Hills, New Jersey.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Millburn High School in Short Hills and earned her bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She is employed as a food writer and recipe developer at Food52 in New York City. Her fiance is a graduate of Chautauqua Lake Central School, and earned his bachelor of arts in mathematics and computer science at Hamilton College. He earned his master of science in computer science from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is employed as a researcher and is pursuing a doctoral degree in computer science at North Carolina State University.

A Sept. 2, 2018 wedding in Raleigh is planned.
