Library director speaks to Fredonia Rotary

Sara Hart, newly appointed Darwin R. Barker library director, was welcomed by Joe Gugino, incoming president, as the guest speaker at a recent Fredonia Rotary meeting. Hart is a Chautauqua County native. She earned a bachelor’s degree in art history from SUNY at Fredonia and a master of library science from the University at Buffalo. She spent the first part of her career working for non-profits and financial firms in New York City and Cleveland, before deciding to move back home to western New York to be with family. She spent 13 years as a librarian at Brocton Central Schools before accepting her current position. Hart discussed the current state of the library and future challenges and opportunities.
