Symphony concert to feature faculty and competition winner soloists

The Fredonia School of Music announces a special free College Symphony Orchestra concert on Saturday, March 5 at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall, under the direction of David Rudge.

The program features three faculty soloists in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, with David Colwell (violin), Natasha Farny (cello) and Sean Duggan (piano).

The second half of the program opens with Beethoven’s Overture to Fidelio, followed by two works featuring Concerto Competition Winner Michael Hawk (baritone) as soloist. Hawk will perform Britten’s “Look! Through the port . . . And farewell, to ye, old Rights o’ Man!” from Billy Budd, and Mozart’s “Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo” from Cosi fan tutte.

The concert closes with De Falla’s El Sombrero con Tres Picos Suite No. 2.
