DuffleBag Theatre returns for interactive hijinks

It will be “one for all and all for fun” when the Kaleidoscope Family Series opens at the State University of New York at Fredonia with a comedic take on “The Three Musketeers.”

Rockefeller Arts Center presents DuffleBag Theatre with “The Three Musketeers” on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in Marvel Theatre on the Fredonia campus.

Since being founded 1992, the “Nearly World Famous” DuffleBag Theatre has become one of the most celebrated companies in North America, thanks to its interactive storytelling productions like “The Three Musketeers.”

This is the company’s seventh visit to Rockefeller, following last year’s popular performance of “Snow White.”

The players of DuffleBag Theatre begin the show with a traditional telling of a tale. Just as the audience becomes enthralled by the story, a twist is created.

Selected audience members are asked to come up on stage and join in the action by playing key roles in the story. This makes for a fun-filled, interactive theater experience.

The unpredictable performance is a hilarious experience for all ages and a truly unique theatrical event in which the dream of being part of the story actually does come true.

This show is approximately 60 minutes long and is recommended for ages 6 and up.

With 15 different shows in its current repertoire, DuffleBag Theatre performs more than 600 times a year across Canada, the United States and internationally. The company is based in Toronto.

In addition to “Snow White” last season, previous performances at Rockefeller have included “Rumpelstiltskin,” “Robin Hood,” “Peter Pan,” “Cinderella” and “A Christmas Carol.”

Tickets for “The Three Musketeers” are available through the Campus Ticket Office in the Williams Center, by phone at 673-3501 or online at fredonia.edu/tickets.

This Kaleidoscope Family Series event is sponsored by Antoinette (Annette) Lukasik, DDS as part of the 2016-17 Lake Shore Savings Season. The Kaleidoscope Family Series sponsor is the OBSERVER.
