“Girl on the train” Jan. 14
JAMESTOWN — Reg Lenna Center for The Arts is screening five movies in the month of January. Marketing Director Len Barry said, “With Oscar nominations being announced soon, our hope is to schedule as many nominated films as possible.” The Reg will also continue to program family films, including the continuation of Sensory Friendly movies shown nearly every month.
The mystery-thriller, “The Girl on the Train” will show Saturday, Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. Based on the bestselling novel, the film stars Emily Blunt (Into The Woods, Sicario).
Multiple Golden Globe nominated “Moonlight” will show Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. The drama focuses on an African-American boy at three points in his young life and his struggles growing up. It stars Maherashi Ali (Marvel’s Luke Cage), Naomie Harris (Skyfall), and recording artist Janelle Monae (Hidden Figures).
On Saturday, Jan. 21 at 4 p.m., The Reg will show “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Based in the world of the Harry Potter series, it stars Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl).
The historical drama “Loving,” shows Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. Nominated for two Golden Globe awards, it stars Joel Edgerton (Black Mass, Zero Dark Thirty) and Ruth Negga (Agents of SHIELD, Preacher) as an interracial couple whose marriage was the focus of a landmark Supreme Court case in 1967.

“Moonlight” Jan. 18
The science fiction drama “Arrival” shows Saturday, Jan. 28 at 8 p.m. Amy Adams (American Hustle, The Master) stars in the film as a linguist recruited to communicate with aliens whose ships mysteriously appear in Earth’s atmosphere.
