What is Chautauqua Youth Chorus?

The Chautauqua Youth Chorus is a non-profit ensemble in residence at Fredonia University that promotes excellence in music and a new dimension of choral music education. Students from all over Chautauqua County in grades 3-12 can audition to become a part of the choir. Rehearsals are held in Mason Hall at Fredonia University. Our goal is to bring children who have a love of singing and music together to share in the beauty of creating choral music of all styles. CYC performs several concerts a year, attends local festivals, travels to see the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and performances at Shea’s Performing Arts Center, is committed to community service, and plans social gatherings. The opportunities provided to members are beyond measure. Visit the website at to learn more.

Chautauqua Youth Chorus would also like to extend an invitation to their upcoming fundraising event! On May 4, 2019, the Great Gatsby Gala will be held at 21 Brix Winery. This is very entertaining event that will have live music, catered food and a wonderful raffle with exciting prizes. The chorus relies heavily on the financial support of local business to continue their mission. If you are interested in becoming an event underwriter, auction donor, table host or purchase tickets to attend this event, contact the Artist Director, Mrs. Marjorie Bohn at or call 997-5653.

The Facebook page contains more information on this and other upcoming events.

CYC wishes to thank the community for the wonderful support this holiday season and always.
