The North Shore Arts Alliance announces that the 11th annual Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail Open Studio and Gallery Tour will take place over Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-26. Among the artists participating in this year’s art trail are Thomas Annear for plein air painting and Tom Janik for photography.

“Adventure meets quiet contemplation in my plein air paintings. From the snowcapped peaks of the Tetons to the desolate hills of the badlands to the old growth forests of Western New York the paintings capture both the grandeur and beauty of the American landscape,” said Annear.

Meanwhile, Janik is inspired by nature and finds beauty in the details. Growing up in Southern California with some time spent in the Adirondacks, he started taking photographs around the age of 11 and has been influenced by various photographers, including Ernst Haas, Pete Turner and Eliot Porter, among others. His most recent work includes photos from a western trip to a number of National Parks.

Their art will be on display at the Thomas Annear Studio Hub, 43 Central Ave., Fredonia. For more information and a list of all the artists participating, visit http://www.northshoreartsalliance.com.
