The North Shore Arts Alliance announces the 11th annual Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail Open Studio and Gallery Tour will take place over Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-26. One of the artists participating in this year’s Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail, is Cynthia Norton for wearable fiber.

Norton is inspired by the beauty of natural order and chaos and is influenced by the principles of balance, harmony, differences and cohesion found in Japanese art and architecture. She uses a range of color and tonalities found in nature on fiber to create clothing with vibrancy without overpowering the wearer.

She exclaims, “clothing really only comes to life when it is worn by someone who is a good match for it. I appreciate it when people take an exploratory approach so we learn about what works and what doesn’t.”
