‘La Cage Aux Folles’ opens at JCC Jan. 30

JAMESTOWN — Jamestown Community College’s production of the musical “La Cage aux Folles,” directed by Todd Wagner, opens in late January in Scharmann Theatre.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30-Feb. 1 and Feb. 6-8 and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 9. Ticket information and details on special box seat availability can be obtained by contacting JCC’s box office at 338-1187 or campusstore.sunyjcc.edu.

Cast members include Adam Owens as Albin, Jim Foley as Georges, Derek Devlieger as Jean-Michel, Daman Holland as Jacob, Genevieve Ellis as Anne, Don Hill as Dindon, Kristina Benson as Marie Dindon, Sharon Backos as Jacqueline, Jamie Lee as Renaud, and Liz Metelesky as Frances.

Performing as cagelles are Rudi Andalora, Brandon Milanowski, Mike Giambelluca, Hayate Ishida, Caleb Roller, Skyler Schapp, Alana Moore, Taylor Brightman, and Raelyn Robinson.

Chloe Kilmartin and Anna Rodionova comprise the musical ensemble.

“La Cage aux Folles” tells the story of Georges, the manager of a Saint-Tropez nightclub featuring drag entertainment, and Albin, his romantic partner and star attraction. They prepare for a visit from Georges’s son, Jean-Michel, who is bringing his fiancee’s ultra-conservative parents to meet them.
