Pedro and the Smooth Cats to perform

CASSADAGA — On Sunday, July 11 from 5-7 p.m., Pedro and the Smooth Cats will grace the Floating Stage at Cassadaga Beach.

This local band covers a variety of American music styles, including country, blues, R&B, and rockabilly. Singer, sax player, keyboardist Pete Howard is a Fredonia native and is known as one of the top sax players in Western New York. Guitarist Greg Lay lives on the Cattaraugus Territory (Gowanda) and led a renowned Native American blues band. Fredonia native Doug VanDette has drummed in the area for most of his life. Jeff White is a veteran bass player and songwriter. Together, they create a unique sound that pleases every audience. This concert is sponsored by Just Breathe Massage and Savvy Hair Design.

Also featured at this concert will be local author – Robert John Terreberry. He will be available with his books “Murder at Maple Springs” and “Action at Maple Springs”. Bob is from nearby Maple Springs, of course, and will be on hand for book signings and questions. Cassadaga’s own Roxanne Astry will be at the concert as well, with her beautiful oil paintings. Some of them are of Cassadaga Lake. Super Duper Catering will be selling food and drink or you can bring your own. Come by boat or bring a chair or blanket. Parking at the beach on Park Ave. is limited, so if you are able, please park at the nearby library, church (both on Maple Ave.) or across the street from the firehall on Mill Street.

The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga invite everyone to this beautiful venue which includes the beach with lifeguard on duty, playground, and historic gazebo. Come enjoy a wonderful evening of music, art, and literature.
