The next film in the Cinema Series at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center is the foreign language film, “Delicious.”
It will be screened Saturday and Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
Despite the lifting of the statewide mask mandate, the most recent reported numbers indicate that the level of COVID transmission within Chautauqua County remains high, according to CDC guidelines. The opera house is continuing to require all patrons to wear masks before, during and after Opera House events. Masks must securely and snugly cover the nose and mouth entirely. Neck gaiters and bandanas are not permitted.
In “Delicious,” it is 1789 France, just before the revolution. A talented but prideful chef who has been sacked by his master finds the strength to free himself from being a servant when a mysterious woman arrives at the Inn he is living in and offers to pay to become his apprentice, setting the stage for a wildly enjoyable tale of reignited passion, mentorship and revenge … and of the creation of France’s very first restaurant.
Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. A book of 10 movie passes is available for $60 at the door or online at www.fredopera.org. For more information, call the Opera House Box Office at 716-679-1891. The Opera House Cinema Series is sponsored by Lake Shore Savings Bank.
The Opera House is equipped with individualized closed captioning eyeglasses for the deaf as well as with assistive listening headsets for the hearing-impaired. Simply request one from any usher or Opera House staff member.
