Tutankhamun to be shown at Fredonia 1891 Opera House

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will present Tutankhamun: The Last Exhibition, a special cinematic examination of the ancient pharaoh's treasures, on Saturday at 1 p.m. as part of its Art & Architecture On Screen Series.
To mark the centenary of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, Tutankhamun: The Last Exhibition offers audiences, for the first time ever, an extraordinary opportunity to meet the Pharaoh, with exclusive coverage of how 150 of his treasures were moved to become part of the biggest international exhibition ever dedicated to him.
The exhibition contained over 150 artifacts from the boy king's grave, the largest number ever exhibited outside Egypt. The exhibition was due to tour until 2023 but was cut short due to the pandemic. The Egyptian government has since decreed Tut and his treasure will never again leave the country.
The production explores a continuous dialogue of cross-references between the ancient past when the Pharaoh was alive, the more recent times which saw the discovery of his tomb by archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922, and the present day with exhibitions and studies dedicated to Ancient Egypt.
Produced in Italy, the production is narrated by shock rocker Iggy Pop, and runs approximately one hour, 20 minutes.
