"So Long Mr. Broadway" was written by John Daily, a longtime resident of Westfield.
In this play Daily takes the viewer back stage of vaudeville as it comes to a close in a fun energetic writers theater play.
Directed by Karin Seager Cockram, curator of the Brenda Eno Gallery at Lake Shore Center for the Arts, in the Jacqueline Phillips Theater Oct. 14, 15, 21, and 22 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
The play stars Rick Mascaro, Brenda Backus, Libby Cardy-Sciarrino, Bill Karrow, Rick Mathews and Natalie Waddell-Rutter, all veterans of our stage. These actors are all fun in their own right, together they blend to bring this play to life for an evening of laughs and hilarity.
February, 1939: After decades of slugging it out in vaudeville, Bobby Broadway and his talented troupe are finally calling it quits, and you're invited to the big farewell show...if he can manage to keep them together long enough, that is! The new actress can't seem to get her nerves under control, and Tommy the funnyman keeps disappearing. And just why has Myrtle, the troupe's resident songstress, been acting so secretive lately?
