Opera House to present “About My Father”

Robert De Niro is pictured in a scene from About My Father, which will be shown July 8 and July 11 at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House.

FREDONIA – The next film in the Cinema Series at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center is the comedy “About My Father,” starring Robert De Niro and Sebastian Maniscalco.

It will be screened on Saturday, July 8, and Tuesday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Sebastian (Maniscalco) is encouraged by his fiance to bring his immigrant, hairdresser father, Salvo (De Niro), to a weekend get-together with her super rich and exceedingly eccentric family. The weekend develops into what can only be described as a culture clash, leaving Sebastian and Salvo to discover that the great thing about family is everything about family.

Rated PG-13 for some suggestive material, partial nudity and language, “About My Father” runs one hour, 29 minutes.

Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. A book of 10 movie passes is available for $60 at the door or online at www.fredopera.org. For more information, call the Opera House Box Office at 716-679-1891.
