CASSADAGA — The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga proudly announce the next concert in the Cassadaga Lakes Summmer Concert Series. On Sunday, Aug.6 from 5-7 p.m. Ion Sky will be rocking the Cassadaga Floating Stage. Ion Sky performs light rock, country, pop, hard rock and alternative music. The intense passion and drive from all four members allow the band to be as tight as possible while having fun with the audience at the same time. This performance is sponsored by the Village of Cassadaga.

Also at the concert will be featured local author Debby Runge Meder with her book, “The Front Porch Promise.” It is the story of her childhood in Cassadaga, losing family and farm and against all odds getting the beloved farm back and reconnecting with siblings. Featured artist Josette Peck was born and raised in Cassadaga and did the illustration on the front of “The Front Porch Promise.” She will also have other acrylic art work at the concert. Elaine Bardol will be there with Cassadaga merchandise and Super Duper Catering will have some delicious food to purchase. You can also pack a picnic and sit at one of the many picnic tables at the beach.

During intermission, there will be a dedication for a new bench at Cassadaga Beach. This bench was purchased by family and friends of former Cassadaga resident, Debbie Deuink, who recently passed. All friends and family of Debbie are encouraged to come to this concert and celebrate Debbie’s life.

Whether you come by land or sea, this is sure to be an enjoyable evening of great music, art, literature, food and drink. The Cassadaga Floating Stage is located at Cassadaga Beach on Park Avenue. The beautiful lakeside park has a playground and lifeguards on duty.

Parking is limited at the beach, so please park at the nearby church, library or firehall and walk if you are willing and able. In case of inclement weather, this concert will be moved to the Cassadaga Fire Hall or American Legion Post 1280. Call 716-665-8855 if you have any questions.
