Point Gratiot concert features The Trend
The Trend is performing today at Point Gratiot.
The City of Dunkirk’s Music at the Point Sunset Concert Series will host The Trend today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Point Gratiot. The event is sponsored by STEL.
The Trend was formed in Buffalo in 1966 and became a popular band at high school dances covering ’60s rock ‘n roll and rhythm and blues.
Of the original four members, two remain in the band – Dave Chiarmonte, lead singer and bass, and Dave Roach, guitar and vocals.
Joe Saeli, guitar and harmonica, joined the band in 1970. College, careers, etc., brought about a hiatus, but the band started again in earnest in the mid-80’s.
Recent additions include Bill Basil, our drummer, and Therese Vita, on vocals.
The remaining music schedule includes August 16 – Ion Sky and August 23 – Refuge.
Visitors are reminded to bring a chair, snacks and refreshments and enjoy the sunsets and music at Point Gratiot.
