Third annual Latino Festival slated in Dunkirk

Calle Uno will be the headliner band at the third Annual Dunkirk Latino Lakefront Festival this Saturday in the Lake Shore Drive East grass lot between the Clarion Hotel and Tim Horton’s.

The City of Dunkirk and Mayor Wilfred Rosas will the third Annual Latino Lakefront Festival on Saturday from noon to 9:30 p.m. at 64 Lake Shore Drive East in the grassy lot.

Sponsored by Graf Realty, The Puerto Rican Hispanic Day Parade of Western New York, Goya, Molina Healthcare, Refresco, Wells and Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, the cultural event will have live music, dancing, food trucks, vendors and a domino tournament.

The music/dance lineup includes emcee Francisco Guzman, DJ Edwin Gomez, Luis Guillermo (12:45 p.m.), Gustavo Gil (1:30 p.m.), Amor and Heritage Dancers (2 p.m.), Ecos Borincano (2:45 p.m.), Manny Perez (4 p.m.), Maria Perez-Gomez theatrical act (5:15 p.m.), El Batey Bomba Dancers (6 p.m.), Hip Hop Jibarito (6:30 p.m.) and headliner Calle Uno (8 p.m.).

Representing the food and craft/gift segments are Arly & Izzy’s, Alma Latina, Conuco Y Coa, KSDesigns LLC and Mallys Market.

The domino tournament, for ages 18 and over, will have a double six double elimination format. The competition will begin at 11:15 a.m. with the tournament starting at 12 noon under the provided tent.

The cost is $25 person or $50 per team. Individual entrants will be matched up with another person. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top place winners.

Registration forms are available at the Dunkirk Youth and Recreation/Festivals office in Stearns Court by City Hall or the Dunkirk Festivals and Special Events Facebook page.
